Week 23 has been completed and this has been a tough week with many other things going on Jordan went up to the bus to attempt to take his mind off things. So what work did Jordan get up to?
Jordan started with cleaning the head up a little bit more and removing a few other bits off the head to make it a little more easier to clean and get in to all the spaces. so the fuel filter mount came off. Then with a lack of cleaning gear Jordan tried to use a little bit of WD40 this had an impact and helped a little to clean it up but with the low flow out the can it wasn’t the best. So decided to try that other one we got when we was taking the head off this has much more pressure out the can and it was brilliant and clean up things really well. Still a little bit to do yet but its working.
Jordan then turned his attention to the block its self which is in need of some love and attention. Using the same method it was really surprising how well it cleaned the oil was even strong enough to start taking the carbon off the cylinders this will help when we go to start it back up.
Once Jordan was a little board of this Jordan decided to have a look at the Oil Sump and see what the damage was as there is a chance we can weld it up. Which will save us a little money. As you can see it cleaned up well and the crack was a little worse than though but only a little bit with a hole with a slight crack. Can really be repaired which saves the £4500 we was quoted to have a new one made as these sumps are not available.
What to do while Jordan waits for the degreaser to work well It was a simple task of a little tiding up and then decided to try and put the power cable from the solar panel up the wall trim to hide it and make it look good and well we are sure you will agree it looks much better.
Jordan also gave the alternator a quick go over.
