Welcome to week 2 of the Major Restoration.
This week Jordan and Natalie carried on with the removal of the floor. However before we do that we had something in the way of the floor removal and that is a load of seats and other bits and bobs. So once these had been stack up nicely well more like a game of jenga. We could start.
As you can see it is all rather carefully piled up We dare move anything as it might all fall, We have left a very small path to enable us to reach the tool box at the back but that is even a bit of a stretch.
Before Jordan stack these up he removed the floor from the rear seat area while Natalie began work on removing the floor from just before the step.
As you can see from some of the above image you can see how rotten parts of the floor are. However something that Natalie was battling with was the glue unlike the glue on the top part that came up with no issues the flooring on the bottom half is well and truly glued down and is well attached to the wood floor, In places so well down it is bringing parts of the wood up with it. So the going so slow with that.
Then Jordan got a little board with fighting with the flooring and decided to have a battle with the wood instead and the floor was so rotten it was a rather easy battle to win right until it wasn’t.
The rot around the step due to the flooring not being flush with the walls and sealed is rather bad where the water from over the years has slowly rotted the wood at least the top layer and some of it was and is bowed up.
We need to get some more tools that are better suited to the job of pulling the floor up as it is screwed and bonded down. Then progress then will be quicker.
On news of the storage locker for all the bits to go into, We have found a place and although the cost is rather high at £15.30 a week for 35Sqf we have done the deal and we shall soon be able to move all the seats into that area.
We are also looking for stock for the stalls we will be hosting next season at the shows due to the lack of an operational vehicle. We are willing to buy your unwanted models please get in touch with us at Admin@mancbuses.com with the subject of Stock.
